"If every American skipped one meal of chicken per week and substituted vegetables and grains, for example, the carbon dioxide savings would be the same as taking more than half a million cars off of U.S. roads"
Yes, it's true. And this has nothing to do with the subject that Americans are fat and all that common knowledge. If you consider the fact that Europe has far over twice as many inhabitants than the United States does - I bet you'll see the picture for yourself, right?
So, this is the moment you'll say; "Oh my god! I can't imagine one day a week without eating meat!".Well, ladies and gentleman, let me introduce you to something that I would like to call… fish!
I guess this is the moment where you get flashbacks to your childhood when your mom served you dry cod for dinner. She tried to force you to eat it, alongside with vegetables you really hadn't learned to love, at that time of your life.
Well, guess what! You're an adult now. You can prepare your fish in any way you like. You can have two tons of butter on it, you can even eat deep-fried fish with sauce on the inside!
There are many ways to eat fish, and that's something you learn as you get older ('cause you are all grown-up soon, aren't you?).
On another note; fish is actually good for you. "Really??", you say? Yes, indeed.
The health government in Norway recommends that you eat something with fish 4 days per week.
I bet you are now thinking "Holy shit! Do I have to eat fish for dinner 4 days a week?! Stop this crazy madness!". Well, no, you don't.
Let's say you eat 4 meals each day, every week. This is 28 meals in a week - eating fish 4 days in a week, means you're replacing 4 of these 28 meals, with something fishy (hihi).
Not only would it spare our earth from some massive carbon dioxide discharge, but it might do something about the increasing epidemic of fatness that the world is seeing. The more fat we become, the more lazy we get, and we'll continue to increase the carbon dioxide levels, just because walking 10 minutes to the store, seems like the greatest obstacle of our life in our fat-suits.
So how about doing something good for a change? Do your share for the fight against global warming and do your body a favor at the same time. It's a win-win situation, if you ask me.
